The Bridge Directory seeks wisdom, accountability, and guidance from our council of community-nominated elders. Our elders not only lead our community, they serve in an advisory capacity in support of our common goal and mission.

What is an elder?

  • A person who has earned credibility through age, wisdom, or merit
  • A name given to someone by community, not to self
  • A person who imparts tradition, lessons, culture, values, and knowledge
  • A person who leads our community

Meet our council of elders:

  • I am a Rev. High Priestess of the Nile Valley, Queen Clan Mother of the Choctaw Muskogee Yamassee 1st Nation Bhuvaneshswari, and a Granny Midwife and Divine Healer who has directly assisted Sacred Beings in Birth, Herbal Therapy, and Nutritional Health & Wellness for more than 32 years.

  • I have served as a lay midwife, birth doula, childbirth educator, full-spectrum doula/birth attendant, lactation counselor, infant massage instructor, dancing through pregnancy instructor, and DONA-approved birth doula trainer.

  • I am a Grand Warrior Midwife aka Gran/Granny Midwife. For the last 25 years, I’ve practiced the art of the wise ancient ways of my foremothers; Daughter of Queen Mother Oshun Anointed by Mother Earth to carry on the tradition of Midwifery passed on to me by my Grandmother.
