About the Provider

Congratulations on your Pregnancy! I am a birth doula located in NYC. I support women through pregnancy in a wide range of ways. I focus on your physical health and care as well as your emotional, spiritual, and mental health. Through pregnancy you may experience a wide range of emotions and my priority is to validate those emotions, connect you to the support that you need and guide you in a way that you feel respected and valued. It is your body, your choice and I wish to honor that and advocate for you as well. Additionally we will both learn from each other as I will enter into our relationship with a blank slate willing to learn all that there is to learn about your goals, expectations and desires; while creating plans to allow you to feel prepared, empowered and in control of your birthing experience. My approach is holistic in the sense that I work with you through meditation, guided relaxation techniques, breathing exercises as well as connecting with your divine feminine; while I am also well aware of medical approaches and willing to be your support in a medical field as well. I run support groups for pregnant women in order to create communities and connect you to women that may be in similar situations as you or to simply have someone else to talk to, but that is totally optional.

I became interested in being a doula when I started my work as a Family Support Worker. I realized how underserved pregnant women were, as if there was some sort of limbo between conception and birth, I noticed that this was especially true for women of color. I began as a doula providing free services to low income families and most of my work has consisted of working with low income women of color. I am fluent in English and Spanish as I was born in the Dominican Republic. I have a B.S in Psychology and minored in Human Services. I received my doula training from DONA. I received my breastfeeding counselor training from Florida State University Center for Prevention and Early Intervention. I am well versed in Early Childhood Education and continue to learn many other trades that support me in supporting all my clients.

I have worked servicing children for over 10 years and with families as a whole for over 7 years. I have always enjoyed this line of work because it is rewarding to myself and to my clients. I feel peace and comfort knowing that I was able to make part of someone’s life less challenging. I have been a doula for over 4 years now and although I did not know it was my calling from early on in life, I feel at home with the work that I do and I strive to make everyone that I work with feel the same! Good Luck on your birthing Journey and Beyond!
